With the scourge of AIDS threatening our planet, it is critical that all health care resources should be effectively and efficiently used. In South Africa, as in many other parts of the world, this is crucial because of the shortage of healthcare professionals. The PSSA acknowledges the vital role that a pharmacist can play in HIV and AIDS. The PSSA has embarked on a national HIV and AIDS project with the objective to create greater public awareness of the role of the pharmacist in addressing the problem of HIV and AIDS in South Africa. This is an opportunity for us all to join hands and made a difference.
