What is SAPSF? The South African Pharmacy Students' Federation is a professional federation that represents ALL Pharmacy students studying in South Africa. Our Mission is to unite and serve Pharmacy Students and to work towards improving the quality of health care for all South Africans. Aims & Objectives To Promote Health Awareness by providing health services in the community To promote the profession of Pharmacy & to encourage the highest level of ethical & moral conduct in SAPSF members To contribute to the maintenance of high standards of pharmacy education To support the establishment & activities of pharmacy student organizations To establish & maintain links with other pharmacy students at international levels To develop YOUR potential as a competent professional Who makes up SAPSF? SAPSF is comprised of all Pharmacy students who are registered at any institution in South Africa offering the qualification and who have rightfully paid the required membership fee. The following are the branches of SAPSF: Association of Pharmacy Interns (API) University of KwaZulu-Natal Association of Pharmacy Students (UKNAPS) Port Elizabeth Pharmaceutical Students Association (PEPSA) Potchefstroom Pharmacy Students Association (PASV) Rhodes University Pharmaceutical Students Association (RUPSA) Tshwane University of Technology (TUTULAPS) University of the Limpopo Association of Pharmaceutical Students (ULAPS) University of the Western Cape Association of Pharmacy Students(UWCAPS) Witwatersrand Pharmacy Students Council (WPSC) Why should I join SAPSF? SAPSF represents YOUR interests at National level e.g. Curriculum issues, community services...etc. It allows YOU exposure to the different avenues of the pharmacy profession YOU may participate in the intervarsity or IPSF student exchange program YOU may meet & associate with other students of pharmacy It allows YOU access to the annual SAPSF conference It entitles YOU to participate in the annual Patient Counseling AND Clinical Skills Competition It enhances YOUR leadership role It allows you to participate in Community-orientated outreach programs YOU are an automatic associate member of the PSSA (Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa) YOU are entitled to apply for membership with the IPSF (International Pharmaceutical Students Federation) SAPSF also Maintains ties with the following professional bodies, thereby representing YOUR interests NATIONALLY and INTERNATIONALLY: African Pharmacy Students Federation (APSF) International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA)
